"Gloria Kamil is the best personal trainer there is! I started training with Gloria in January 2001 when I was 47 years old and starting to feel the effects of a mostly sedentary lifestyle. "On the early morning of September 3rd, 2008, my entire stability of life changed, what I conceived as normal became abnormal. This was the day I experienced a heart attack. God blessed me to be in the right place with the right people to assist me. I work in a hospital.

"I met Gloria last summer when a friend of mine sent me an invitation to her Saturday morning boot camp. Though the 2 hour comprehensive workout was grueling, I liked her no nonsense style. I soon decided to sign up for her personal training services. During my one hour session 3 days a week at 5:00 AM, I got to know Gloria as a person. She is tough on you, but only because she really does care about improving the quality of her client's lives. She knows when to push hard and when to push a little more gently, but she never gives up on you, even when you want to give up on yourself.

I unfortunately wasn't truly ready to do all that I needed to do to fully embrace the possibility of becoming a healthier me. Though I was making the effort to get up and work out with her 3 days a week, that's all I did and it wasn't enough to achieve the results I was looking for. There was nothing that Gloria could tell me that I hadn't heard before, but she said it in a way that finally sunk in. I am extremely fortunate that Gloria saw something in me that I didn't know was there and suggested I join her Spring Journey program. The best decision I made in a long time was to say "yes". I started the Spring Journey not really knowing what to expect and with a bit of skepticism.

I actually surprised myself. unbeknown to me, I was finally mentally ready to make the changes I needed to in my life in order to improve my life. I never thought a "green" smoothie would change my life, but it really did. You make them yourself with fresh fruits and greens and therefore there are no added sugars or other chemicals and you can get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables without a lot of effort. I have made them a part of my life along with incorporating other healthy foods and of course regular exercise.

Through the first phase of this journey, it hasn't been easy, but feeling as good as I feel and seeing the positive results has motivated me to make this a lifetime journey, not just a seasonal event. "When I decided to join the Girlfriends Boot Camp I didn't give a lot of thought as to what it might entail. After the first session however, I learned that it was indeed a high intensity 2 hour workout that was more strenuous than my normal
workouts. The program is all-inclusive as it combines a variety of cardio activities with light weight training and stretching. The biggest benefit to me, however, is meeting the other ladies in the camp and understanding that we are all working towards similar goals; improving our bodies, mind and spirits. "For the first time in 24 months, I can honestly say I feel ALIVE again! The last time I felt this way was in 2006. I experienced some Real life challenges which I neglected my Health and Well Being. Due to this behavior, I developed some MUCH unwanted pounds and some other health issues, like high blood pressure. I knew I was at my heaviest weight, but not one time did Gloria judge me or make me feel bad. Almost immediately after the first phase of the Journey, I began to have increased energy, weight loss and my skin cleared up. I slept better, my mood was balanced and I felt GREAT!!!! I had such Positive results with the Autumn Weight Loss Journey , I decided to go again with the 2009 Spring Journey to continue to lose more weight and cleanse my system. I've never paid attention to what my Caloric Intake should be for my Body or understanding how many calories I need to burn weekly in order to lose unwanted pounds. I can successfully say, that as of August 2009, I've lost over 39 pounds, gone down 10 dress sizes, and I'm finally fitting back in my clothes I haven't been able to wear in almost 2 years plus. I'm now exercising 6 days a week and weight training 4 days. My Blood Pressure is now normal and good. I've been able to maintain Gloria's eating plan into my everyday life and make it a successful Lifestyle Change for me. Oh, and thanks to the weekly boot camps and encouragement of my fellow sister's in this Journey. I haven't picked up any weight since the Spring Weight Loss Journey and I'm continuing to lose weight.
